As a Support Officer, you will be at the heart of our mission, working directly with young people aged 16-25 who have experienced social exclusion.  The role will include providing personalised support and guidance to help young people live independently, assisting them in gaining essential life skills, education, and employment opportunities and foster a sense of belonging and independence.

If so, we want you on our team! We're looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Officers to join our foyers in Medway.



About you:

As a Support Officer, you will be at the heart of our mission, working directly with young people aged 16-25 who have experienced social exclusion. Your role will involve:
 

  • Case Management: Provide personalized support and guidance to help young people live independently within the community.
  • Life Skills Development: Assist young people in gaining essential life skills, education, qualifications, training, and employment opportunities.
  • Community Integration: Foster a sense of belonging and independence among the youth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Children’s Services, families, and both statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • Deliver housing-related support in line with our policies and the Supporting People Quality Assessment Framework (QAF).
  • Assist with Ofsted and Foyer Federation annual audits.
  • Conduct quarterly support plan meetings, risk assessments, and regular key work meetings.
  • Prioritize educational, training, and employment outcomes for NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) youth.
  • Lead Team Around a Child (TAC) or Team Around a Young Person (TAYP) meetings.
  • Implement and support resettlement plans.

 


What You'll Need:

 

  • Proven experience working with young people aged 16-25.
  • Knowledge of housing and personal benefits.
  • Experience with complex support needs.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic approach to interacting positively with young people.
  • Ability to work independently in an open environment.
  • Excellent IT skills and flexibility to adapt to new systems.
  • Ability to develop a specialist task.
  • A valid driving license and a private vehicle for work use.


Note: Employment is subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, and enhanced-level DBS clearance.
