Role Overview:

As a Welfare Benefits Advisor, you will help customers navigate complex benefit systems, maximise their income, and improve their financial literacy. You’ll handle a caseload, offering personalised support and advocating for their rights while contributing to the organisation’s financial stability.



Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Represent mhs with integrity, maintain positive relationships, and continuously seek service improvements. Stay updated on welfare benefit legislation and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Deliver high-quality service, assist with benefit claims, and represent clients in appeals. Manage inquiries, support benefit take-up campaigns, and build partnerships with external agencies.
  • Utilize relevant systems and software effectively.
  • Provide tailored support to diverse customers and ensure compliance with the Equality Act and mhs policies.
  • Manage the Customer Support Fund



What We’re Looking For:

Experience and qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Welfare Benefits Environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of all welfare benefits for both working and pension age people
  • Experience of challenging benefit decisions including preparing cases for and attending Appeal Tribunals
  • Excellent letter and report writing skills
  • Ability to write and present training
  • Ability to manage budgets
  • Excellent communication
  • Driving licence and access to a car for work
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
