The role:

Orbit is delighted to announce that we are recruiting for a brand new Hub based Community Connector to cover Norwich and surrounding areas. In this role you will be responsible for managing the Community Hub, including opening/closing, security and meeting customers. The role will enable us to engage with customers at a local level, ensuring we increase access to Orbit's Better Days support services.

This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.

 

What you'll achieve - Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Plan and deliver an ongoing programme of community engagement and activity events
  • Take responsibility for the marketing and customer communications for local engagement and activities
  • Collating data and impact of community events and activities for reports and providing feedback
  • Support the Place Area Lead in developing and promoting day-to-day activities at Community Hubs and providing a regular face-to-face presence
  • Providing Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) to Orbit customers and making customer referrals into Better Days support services
  • Build trust between customers and Orbit through increased local presence

 

What you'll bring - Essential skills:

  • To be successful in this role of Community Connector you will need to have experience and passion for working within local communities with a proven background of building and sustaining relationships.
  • You will need to be able to engage with and listen to our customers and have a good understanding of the day to day issues social housing residents may face.
  • Ability to deal professionally and confidently with challenging conversations and behaviours
  • Good standard of IT literacy including the use of Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Comfortable speaking in public in front of a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to work outside standard office hours on occasion
  • Must have a car for business use and be willing and able to travel
  • Experience of collating monitoring and reporting data and customer feedback
