54North Homes owns and manages over 3,000 homes throughout Yorkshire.

The housing association was formed in December 2022, through a merger between Leeds & Yorkshire Housing Association and York Housing Association and is a subsidiary of the Karbon Homes Group.   • Salary is £25,818 per annum plus a Karbon car payment of £2,260 per annum
  • Location: Based at our York Office (Huntington, YO32)
  • Regular travel will be required
  • 37 Hours per week with some homeworking available/flexible working
  • Generous benefits package including 26 days annual leave on commencement rising to 31 days after 3 years’ service, occupational pension, health cash plan, and birthday leave, with the option of a flexible pot towards enhanced benefits.

The Role of the Tenancy Sustainment Officer:

The Tenancy Sustainment Officer role involves providing housing related support to a portfolio of customers, living either in their own homes or within supported schemes run by 54North homes. You will provide support and advice to tenants, through intensive housing management for residents to sustain their tenancy and live independently.

Working with 54N customers and those of other landlords, this unique role provides an opportunity to be highly engaged, building relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders. You will assist new tenants particularly vulnerable tenants to set up and maintain a tenancy and engaging with existing support providers to ensure appropriate support packages are in place.

The role is to ensure tenants understand and adhere to tenancy agreements and supporting them to deal with problems relating to tenancy, including repairs, rent arrears, property condition and ASB.

You will work in partnership with the resident and other agencies as appropriate prepare an action plan to achieve agreed outcomes and undertake regular support sessions appropriate to the identified level of need, maintaining accurate records of assistance given, those involved, and outcomes reached.

Acting as the tenant’s advocate liaise with other housing, health, welfare professionals, and other statutory and voluntary agencies, to access specialist support as appropriate.
