We are seeking an experienced and proactive Diversity and Inclusion Manager to drive forward our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda over the next 12-months to promote a culture of inclusivity within our organisation.

This is a critical role with responsibility for developing and implementing our EDI initiatives and action plans in line with our organisational vision and commitment to EDI.  This opportunity comes at a key time to drive meaningful impact in our EDI agenda with full Board level commitment. This role involves working closely with colleagues and customers to foster an inclusive culture, ensuring equal opportunities for all colleagues and customers, and enhancing LHP’s commitment to EDI principles.

The successful candidate will help us capitalise on key initiatives including the creation of a newly formed EDI working group and the opportunity to leverage insights from new and improved diversity monitoring data to drive forward our EDI vision.

Career Development & Encouragement:

What responsibilities will I have as a Diversity and Inclusion Manager?

  • EDI Working group - Lead the newly formed EDI working group to shape and drive the delivery of an impactful EDI action plan, creating a safe space to increase colleague and customer voice and generate meaningful insight of our colleagues and customers diverse lived experience and needs.
  • Awareness raising – Oversee communication plans and develop communications to ensure relevant EDI issues and activities are shared effectively to enable Board, leadership, management, colleagues, and customers to effectively understand EDI expectations relevant to their role.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Oversee arrangements (working with other colleagues) to enable a broad range of colleagues, managers, customers, stakeholders and unions to effectively engage in EDI activities, foster a culture of inclusion and create buy-in to the action plan and required changes
  • Advice and guidance - Be the in-house expert and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant EDI issues. Providing expert advice, support and guidance as required to continuously improve our EDI practices based on feedback, best practices, and evolving organisational needs, seeking external advice as needed.
  • Horizon scanning - Stay abreast of changes in the legal and regulatory EDI landscape, including best practice and work with other colleagues to ensure knowledge, best practice, data and insight is collated and considered in strategy and policy development to drive an inclusive culture – and ensure compliance with relevant EDI legislation and regulations.

 

What skills, attributes and experience will I need as a Diversity and Inclusion Manager?

  • Proven experience in EDI management or a related role with a deep understanding of EDI principles and best practises
  • Knowledge of Equality Legislation:- A thorough understanding of UK equality legislation, including the Equality Act 2010, and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Diversity Awareness:- Sensitivity to issues of diversity, inclusion, and social justice, with a deep understanding of intersectionality and the experiences of marginalized groups.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Experience:- Proven experience to influence, build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, management, unions, and customers.
  • Project Management Experience:- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute EDI initiatives and action plans effectively and efficiently
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and communicate EDI principles and initiatives across all levels of the organisation.
  • Analytical Skills – comfortable working with diversity related data, with the ability to use this information to identify themes, inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of EDI initiatives.
  • Continuous Learning and Development - Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of EDI, including staying informed about emerging trends, best practices, and evolving legal requirements.
  • Policy Development: - Experience developing, implementing, and revising EDI policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote equity and diversity within the organisation.

 

Your Qualifications Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources,
  • Organisational Development,
  • Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in diversity and inclusion (e.g. Certified Diversity Professional) is desirable.
