WISH North East is proud to announce the appointment of Crystal Hicks as WISH's new Vice President and the elevation of Jayne Lawson to Chair of the WISH North East Board, marking an exciting new chapter for WISH. The changes come into place following a successful International Women’s Day event, where Dr. Angela Brockbank and Elroi Bernardo from Galliford Try shared inspiring stories of support and progress in the construction industry.
The event, sponsored by Galliford Try, Switchee, North Star Housing Group, Voicescape, and Disruptive Innovators Network, highlighted the importance of inclusivity and empowerment. In conjunction with The Girls' Network, WISH NE launched a STEM competition for schools, encouraging girls to explore STEM activities and career paths in social housing.
The competition offers schools the chance to win up to £2,000, with entries accepted until April 29, 2024. Organisations with links to local schools are encouraged to promote the competition, while potential sponsors can contact Jayne Lawson for details.
