Celebrate the women we heard from at Housing

At Housing 2024 in June, the housing and wider living sector came together to discuss and collaborate and speak with one voice to those framing the debate. We heard from many trailblazing women discussing strengthening workplace culture and employee engagement, up-skilling boards, and supporting staff going through menopause. Among them were:

  • Sally Leech, training director, Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace
  • Karen Mitchell, chief executive, Southway Housing Trust
  • Roli Barker, chair, Jigsaw Homes
  • Alicia Walker, head of policy, research, and campaigns, Centrepoint

We also heard a firsthand account of overcoming barriers from Fara Williams MBE Former professional footballer & lioness. Fara Williams is England’s most capped footballer. She played for the Lionesses from the age of 17, winning 172 caps over the next 19 years. While performing at the highest level, Fara experienced homelessness and lived in hostels for years. Attendees gained an insight into how Fara is using her experience to advocate for more safe and secure homes, and the actions needed to end homelessness for good.

Join us next year as we continue these important conversations and work together to shape the future of housing. It is not too early to start thinking about your time with us in Housing 2025, taking place 24 - 26 June. Register your interest in attending for 2025 >>
